1 Peter 4:10 - Fulfill Our Own Functions
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
Because God gives us different gifts, we perform different functions in the church. This contains God’s good will. But when we see that brothers and sisters who provide hospitality are elderly, we will think they have no gifts, and they will become weak because of that. While those who are young and talented will think that they have capacity and are beloved by Jesus. It can be seen that our views are not in line with Jesus’ will. Peter once said, “As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” If we do as Peter said, do our best in the church, support and help each other, no matter we are young or elderly, we all can be the people who please God.
Share some of God’s words: “Every person has the chance to be made perfect: Provided that you are willing, provided that you pursue, in the end you will be able to achieve the effects, and not one of you will be forsaken. If you are of poor caliber, My requirements of you will be in accordance with your poor caliber; if you are of high caliber, My requirements of you will be in accordance with your high caliber; if you are ignorant and illiterate, My requirements of you will be in accordance with your illiteracy; if you are literate, My requirements of you will be in accordance with your level of literacy; if you are elderly, My requirements of you will be in accordance with your age; if you are capable of providing hospitality, My requirements of you will be in accordance with this; if you say you cannot offer hospitality, and can only perform a certain function, whether it be spreading the gospel, or taking care of the church, or attending to other general affairs, My perfection of you will be in accordance with the function that you perform. Being loyal, obeying to the very end, and pursuing the supreme love of God—this is what you must accomplish, and there are no better practices than these three things.”
