So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin to salvation.
- Hebrews 9:28
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
We can know from this verse, in the Age of Grace, the incarnate Lord Jesus was nailed to the cross in a holy and sinless flesh. He took on the sins of all mankind and served as a sin offering, so that man could break away from the danger of being convicted and cursed by laws. Though we have been redeemed by the Lord Jesus and forgiven of our sins, our sinful nature still exists. We are still bound and restrained by sins, living in the circle of committing and confessing sins, and could not feel released. The same holds true for each of us. God is faithfulness. For the sake of saving man completely, the Lord Jesus has returned to the flesh as the Son of man in the last days, that is, Christ of the last days appeared to work among us in order to resolve our sinful nature, thoroughly save us from the bondage of sin, so that our corrupt disposition can be purified, and we can achieve salvation and be gained by God. Just as God says, “The first incarnation was to redeem man from sin, to redeem him by means of the fleshly body of Jesus, that is, He saved man from the cross, but the corrupt satanic disposition still remained within man. The second incarnation is no longer to serve as a sin offering but rather to save fully those who were redeemed from sin. This is done so that those who have been forgiven may be delivered from their sins and made fully clean, and by attaining a changed disposition, break free of Satan’s influence of darkness and return before the throne of God. Only in this way can man be fully sanctified.”
