He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence
Psalm 91:1–3
The pandemic is still spreading throughout the world and shows no signs to stop. Plus, fires, storms, earthquakes, wars, and other disasters occur frequently. We are caught up in disasters. It is written in the Bible, “He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence” (Psalm 91:1–3). These verses grant us faith, telling us no matter how great the disasters are, God is our salvation and our only refuge. Only if we come before God and accept His salvation can we enter the refuge and gain His protection. However, many believers think that they have entered the refuge by believing in God, often chanting the sacred scriptures, and praying the rosary. Is this really the case? When seeing that many pious believers and even pastors and nuns were killed by disasters, perhaps you will feel confused, “Did they not often chant scriptures and pray?” Absolutely not. So how can we receive protection and enter the refuge with our families?
We can see that the occurrence of these disasters precisely fulfills prophecies of the Lord’s return, such as, “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows” (Mark 13:8). This indicates that the Lord has long since returned. Perhaps you have seen or heard many people’s testimony: The Lord has returned and He is Christ of the last days, Almighty God. He has expressed the truth to save mankind from the bondage of sin and purify them, so that we can be purified, survive the disasters, and enter the beautiful destination—the heavenly kingdom. Therefore, only if we welcome the Lord’s return and accept Almighty God’s end-time salvation can we have the chance to receive God’s protection during disasters. Perhaps many of you will ask: How can we welcome the Lord’s return?
The Lord Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20). “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27). It is evident that the Lord would return to speak words and use His words to knock on our doors. When hearing the testimony that the Lord has returned and spoken words, those who are yearning to welcome the Lord’s return will seek to hear the returned Lord’s words. Once they recognize God’s voice from the returned Lord’s words, they will accept and obey. This is welcoming the Lord’s return to gain His last salvation and truly enter the refuge.
Almighty God says, “Wherever God appears, there the truth is expressed, and there the voice of God will be. Only those who can accept the truth will be able to hear the voice of God, and only such people are qualified to witness the appearance of God.”
“The flames of war swirl, cannon smoke fills the air, the weather turns warm, the climate shifts, a plague will spread, and people can only die, with no hope of survival.”
“Ah! Almighty God, the practical God! You are our impregnable fortress. You are our refuge. We huddle under Your wings, and calamity cannot reach us. Such is Your divine protection and care.”
